Silk screening is the process in which a design is ‘printed’ onto a certain material by applying paint through a mesh cloth. In the metal fabrication world, this often includes a company’s logo or labels for an electric panel. This provides a clean and durable labeling option for adding graphics and/or text for metal components.
There aren’t many fabrication shops that offer in-house screen printing, like we do here at IMEC. When silk screening, we can do as low as 1 print or do a large production quantity. We can do a variety of colors including our stock in-house colors or a custom color to meet your requirements. We also offer single & multi-color prints.
While some form of artwork is needed, we work with our customers to turn the artwork into a functional screen print. With decades of experience silk screening metal panels, we offer suggestions if we see anything that can be tweaked a bit to make sure the finished product meets our customers’ expectations.
Silk screening is just one more service we offer to provide a single source for metal fabricated parts and assemblies. Many of our customers need more than just a simple bracket-they need some sort of weldments or housing or a collection of different parts assembled together, maybe with some machined features and powder coated. Often there are purchased components needing installed, these could be locks, gaskets, or electronics. And there can be finishing touches, like silk screening, that can make a part complete. At IMEC, this is one of our goals: to provide a single stop for our customers needing metal components and assemblies.
